    Hello TW members,

Does anyone know if installing a snorkel has a significant impact on the aerodynamics of the truck? I’ve been wondering if the asymmetry of having just one massive safari snorkel would result in trucks being less streamlined and potentially pulling to one side especially at high speeds. Any thoughts?

I've noticed no ill effects from my snorkel install, not even an increase in wind noise.

Impact on aerodynamics, Yes. It will slightly increase your frontal area. Enough to affect driving, absolutely not.

Ok good to know. My truck has been pulling slightly to the right and I was paranoid the Snorkel might be the reason why.

A snorkel won't cause that. Either the crown of the roads, or a small alignment issue.

Yeah unfortunately I just got the truck aligned yesterday and still have the same behavior (maybe slightly better). I think the alignment shop just didn’t do a good enough job since caster ended up off by more than 1 degree left to right.

Some shops intentionally put a little "pull" to the right as a safety measure. Its done to prevent head on accidents due to drifting over the =centerline of a street if the driver isnt paying attention.

This. https://www.myhonestmechanic.com/articles/new-tires-cause-front-end-of-car-to-pull.shtml. They diagnosed it when they move tires left to right and the pull went opposite. Is your tire duratrac? Mine is

It could also be tire pressure.

Pressure on OEM tires match the numbers on the door sticker so I don’t think that’s it. Switching the front two tires seems like an easy enough experiment so I’ll give that a try. Thanks for the tips everyone!

Looks like a lots covered here. Sometimes in can be simple as rebalancing the wheels and check tire wear.
