I noticed that, 4 pages of not much!:D I have every mile, since owning this truck, accounted for! Is that wierd?:notsure:

It's something my grandfather did. I can see mileage changes per tank and know what changed to make it happen. I didn't think I was that OCD until I posted here!:goingcrazy::crazy:

Yup I'm the same way. I record them in my blackberry everytime I fillup. Love it. The scanguage is probably the best thing I ever bought for the truck. Keeps me worried about driving slower and keeping the truck in good shape!

It's here! I gotta get a 92mm hole saw, all I have is an 89mm, then 4" and 4 1/8". Then onto the install. Hopefully be done by the weekend.

We should be talking about this in the install thread, but I never used a hole saw in the 6-7 I have helped install. I always use a dremel with cut off wheel. Using a hole saw on something that isn't flat is harder then it seems.

    Youll see

Been there, done that. I've done lots of hole sawing on aluminum and vinyl siding, so I know exactly what you mean. I've been thinking pilot hole to 1/2" or so, then maybe a jigsaw with a thin metal blade? I've tried the dremel and cutoff wheel, it just seems to eat wheels...

OOPS...I'll continue this on the install page!:D

Just getting ready for some real world numbers on any increase in fuel efficiency!:)

I start here. Here is all the recorded info since I've owned this truck. I try to document everything I do to it by the date and mileage.

Gotta bear with me, but here it is page by page!

    Bought it 11/16/10 with 115,608miles

Anal?:D A note: Total mileage is as per the odometer reading. Actual miles traveled per tank are adjusted 10%. My GPS gives me an actual mph that is 10% faster than my speedometer reads due to tire size. It worked out simply that when the speedometer reads 60mph, the gps reads 66mph, 50=55, 40=44 and so on. It may be off +/- a %, but that's what I get regularly. My friend the sheriff has confirmed my guestimate. I do have an ultragauge, but have not gone through the bs of correcting it!

Anyhow, I will update as I go. I did replace my K&N with a freshly cleaned and oiled one. I will also clean my TB and MAF in the next few weeks, but it will be documented of course.

I hope I can get some practical info to you guys. I would like to see a real life gain with the snorkel. My plan was more for mileage improvement than being able to submerge my Toy. BTW, what does everyone do with the clutch driven fan when going under? I've seen them eat radiators before. My old Blazer had dual electrics on a switch for water crossing.

Well...it's gonna be tough to do any real comparison of mileage at this point, I've done some extended idle time and some "wheeling" in 4lo, so the numbers won't say much yet, but my last fillup, half of which was before the snorkel was on, gave me 15.7 mpg, right in the middle of what I've been getting regularly.

This tank has also had some idle time and wheeling on it so I'm not expecting to see any major change either. One of these days (weeks) I will just drive the damn thing through a full tank to see what happens!:D

Don't worry, I'm still keeping track! I did a bit of highway yesterday. About 200 miles total, but right at 78mph. Had a load in the bed on the way back. I'm not seeing much change, but my driving hasn't changed except for the worse. Some 4 wheeling and lots of idling and high speeds. I think my last tank was at 15 + mpg's.

I'm leaving for my vasectomy in 10 minutes (no shit) so it may be this evening or tomorrow before I will be back on!:D:eek::eek:

Damn thats crazy you really do document everything. I just keep receipts. Is there a booklet you can buy to document everything and keep receipts with them organized? Its probably too late for me to start this now. But good job. If I ever buy a new one I need to do something like this.
