I have grown to like it easy to spot in a parking lot
I’m more worried about some kids getting on my lawn an putting coins or rocks down the intake.

I was a devious youth something I may have considered to someone I didn’t like. I have since matured..a little.

What a terrible idea. There are quite a few things that will kill the truck if they get wet and your intake is just one of them. If you're going to be splashing water in the stock air intake you are also going to splash water in the fuse box. And your axle breathers and your trans and crankcase dipsticks. And your carpeted interior.

This truck is not designed for the same conditions as even a series 80 land cruiser. Need to cross a river? Buy a HMMWV.

Hahaha I woulda thought along the lines of plastic bbs or something, so im not too far from you lol

lol what are you talking about. If you are planning on doing deep water crossings, you can move your fuse box up and out of the way. Or move it into the cab. The 80 series Im talking about had neither of these done lol. The box on tacomas is high in the engine bay and high in the engine bay in the 80 as well. Your dipsticks are sealed with rubber Orings. Diff breathers are a simple mod that most everyone does that is planning on doing any water crossings, mud riding, hell I even extended my diff breathers into my cab on my old 4runner.

If you are at the point of considering a snorkel, I honestly think youre past the point of driving a stock vehicle into a river.

Stock intake sucks in air from the vents in your front passenger fender well. Pretty low. You have to be completely submerged to get to your fuse box. Properly installed snorkel can get you through water over your tires easily.

I think they look like a steaming heap, BUT...this is coming from a guy who put a $250 brush guard on his 4Runner. Preferences... They have their uses but I'm going to guess 95% of the people that have them are for show. :bananadead:

Oh I totally relate. Learning to stop while your ahead is very important. Because of this I would like to think I have one of the cleanest builds you could possibly have. I think you meant OCD but that OCD ultimately leads into a beautiful build if you can focus long enough lol
