Ok, team, I got a random 5-day little one who wants snow, so here I am asking. Does anyone have any ideas before I drive up to Big Bear and try to get a yellow post site? Never been to any of them, but Google says that's the way.

Stock-height truck with an RTT and enough stuff to be comfortable. I'm from the NE so snow is not a new driving experience.

    Any recommendations are welcomed!

Lytle Creek has yellow post sites too, I don't know what the current snow conditions are up there right now though.

Standard warning in case you’re new to the area: the freeze-thaw cycles and big-M Mountains and pre-WPA roads are different than the NE. Bring chains and be thoughtful about roads that could be slick or icy or crunchy or soft or some sublime transition between any and all of those textures based on sun, clouds, time, altitude, and more. Buddy of mine was a Michigan transplant and thought he knew it all. Slide out and got stuck. An acquaintance smashed his TRD OR into parked cars because he was used to packed snow roads that don’t thaw and re-freeze until the end of the season. Crawl control didn’t save him. Etc.

It's hilarious when people from other states act like they know how to drive in snow. I've driven in a lot of different snow, and big bear area is the hardest. I remember the first time I went to Tennessee and they had a random snowstorm. I asked the people at the rental car place if they provided chains with their cars... They looked at me like I was crazy for thinking I need chains out there. It was mostly flat ground from Nashville all the way to Knoxville, heavy snow, and didn't feel the car slip one bit. It's those random steep inclines you experience in Big Bear, along with ice underneath the snow that really screw you up.

It wasn't too bad up there by the time we got up there. Had a great trip and didn't have any issues with the snow, but boy it was cold.

@Malvolio Thanks for the heads up on different snow from here.

@dirtnsmores relax lol all i said I've done it a few time... and yes the south is different dallas during an ice storm everything shuts down not because they want to but because car accidents.
