Snow Chain Options for 2011 TRD Sport 4WD w/ BFG LT285 70R17

    Any suggestions out there for the best snow chains for use with this All Terrain tire? I’ve noticed Peerless makes 3 different options for this tire size. Anyone out there using their Z583 Z Chain, SZ462 Super Z8 or the diamond design (0232805)? I’d be interested in any other options you’ve found meets your needs with this particular tire. Thanks.

    I bought from this company and went with the 5.5mm square link chains.

    I didn't check to see if it was available in that size, but they offer a lot of sizes and styles. I'm betting something is available from them.

    You're going to have clearance issues with that size tire. I can just barely make them fit my 265/75/16's. And only on the rear. No way they will fit on the front of my truck

    I chose the smaller square link chains because they are a better fit for close tolerances, yet are still rated for use in mud as well as snow.

    Thank you for the reminder... I had chains for when I first got my truck as a oh shit back up... I now have the same tires as you do on my truck and never upgraded the chains.

    I buy the v-bar chains for my tire size and only run them on the rear. I usually go to NAPA or the local tire store, whoever has the best price. If I need chains, I want traction but I don't have enough clearance for chains on the front. I had diamond chains for my camper trailer. They were low clearance and worked great for icy off-camber Forest Service roads in the mountains so the trailer wouldn't try to pull me into the abyss.
