I learned in a 63 Galaxy with 3 on the tree

There is a drivers book, “Going Faster, Mastering the Art of Race Car Driving”. In the book, it says that if your back end brakes loose while on the gas, let up. If your back end brakes while off the gas, add a little gas. When we did HSDE event down in Texas during a rain, the track was like driving on ice, you learned to be easy on the peddles.

have experienced 36 Central Ohio winters driving...so far, have never had an accident in any condition. My insurance company loves me. Our winters are usually more icy than snowy...

my dad always told me to drive in the snow or ice like you would walk in or on it...the same things will happen to your car as does your feet

quick, jerky, unplanned, last minute reactions will always result in a fall, spill, wreck...

be aware of the area in a "wider" bubble, both mentally and physically
and as many have mentioned, make alternate escape plans

when it is under 25F, I assume that EVERYTHING has black ice

    Check build thread!
Smooth, smooth, smooth and slow, slow, slow. 4x4 makes you go, but 4x4 does not make you woah. A Rwd and a 4x4 truck will stop almost identically.
