Anyone know if there is anyone making a snow plow for the 2016 yet?

Plowing with a $35k vehicle? With a genetic line of rusty frame issues?

Isn't that like feeding a princess diabetic Hershey bars or something?

    Wouldn't a beater be a better choice?

    Just sayin.

    I have a long driveway ~350', but it's a gentle grade.

As long as you are not an idiot with a plow, I'm pretty sure it could handle it no problem.

Heck my neighbor does great with a Kabota UTV, those things cost about as a much a truck though themselves.

Having a beater to plow with sounds like a great idea in theory, but they become a maintenance nightmare. I also don't want a beater sitting in my driveway for the 8 months I don't need it to plow.

I put a 60inch $500 plow on Outlander Atv and I do my 350ft driveway fast.

You more than likely will not find much more than the plastic plows, i.e. Fisher Homesteader.

Why not use the 4WD option and just drive down the driveway... problem solved!

You are right. There are generic FG plows that go up and down electrically. The killer is, a good one cost thousands and you leave it on, cheap ones can't handle heavy snow. Depends snow amounts. Personally, I would get a tractor with a blower for a long drive. With a plow truck, you will build up snow on the side and have to push it. These things are not made for plowing much.

I have had a truck with a plow. If all you are trying to do is clear your driveway, then don't do it. Lots of potential issues with it. I have been using my tractor with the snow plow attachment and I also have a long driveway. The total cost of doing that is less than what it would cost to add a plow to your truck. Find a used 4 wheeler with the snow plow on it. There are a few on EBAY right now

Im on a 570ft driveway. 25 minutes on the snowblower and its down to pavement. Have seen many full sized trucks do frame and transmission damage plowing. I'd be wary of plowing with a tacoma.

My driveway is 425' and I use an arctic cat 400 with a tapered plow... Cost way less than my old truck. The wear and tear on a truck from plowing is horrible. Takes me 3 swipes and because it's tapered it shoots it pretty far off to the side.

Trucks are supposed to be used for work. That is the whole reason they were designed. You don't want to use ot for that then you shouldn't be getting a truck.

The Taco is an off-road truck. That will do a hell of a lot more harm than plowing some driveways.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
Last year I got a Yamaha Grizzly 700, with a plow, box blade and a trailer, and it does the work of a tractor. I maintain about a mile of gravel road...

I have been using my Honda Foreman (1996) and plow 200 foot mostly level drive. But a nice warm cab would be better !!!

Plowing is one of those activities around here that eliminates the truck for anything but.

I like a blower on a small riding tractor. A blower does all the work and the tractor doesn't have to push anything. The other alternative and some thing I would back it up with, is a walk behind blower. If the driveway is fair flat two down and backs and you're done. A big track one is as cheap as you can get for a long drive. It's just four 350 foot walks. I did commercial plowing and the investment in a plow truck to me is only worth it if you use it a lot or have steep hills. Get a blower, walk behind or riding.

I have a Kubota diesel L3400 with a heated cab with a 5.5 foot wide cast iron blower that runs off the PTO. I still don't use it for my drive, I use a Toro walk behind blower.. The tractor is for our road.

Get a real truck if you're going to plow (3/4 ton or larger). or just buy a snowblower/used atv

A lot of b/s going on in this thread, probably by people that never even seen snow. We have fleets that use Tacomas for small lots and they never have problems.

To the op question, the mounts should be the same but I think the nose of the 16 being longer the mounts will be different.
