Wow. That’s super douchy leaving snow like that. Iv seen a block of ice fly off a vehicle on the highway into oncoming traffic and cause a high speed accident. How lazy can you be?

More effective is the opposite, time-tested technique:

    • Spray down top of snow-covered car with hose.
    • Wait 30 minutes (time will vary, based on ambient temperature) until water has frozen into a sturdy protective shell
    • Drive with secured roof snow helmet and enjoy potential aerodynamic benefits.

Without trying to be politically incorrect you can always tell a new person here such as people from warm countries by how they deal or don't deal with snow.

Idle your truck with the heat on high until the snow melts and drips off. Then you are free to drive wherever you want

Haha as mentioned snow in Dallas can’t be that big an issue?
Heat truck up hit brakes hard then remove from windshield. Please don’t drive with snow on roof. It’s illegal here in VT but not really enforced.
Be glad you don’t have a cap.
Hell of a first post welcome to TW!

Coming to a quick stop with ice on the roof is a good way to damage your windshield wipers as well.

If only that were the only issue, it would teach people real quick. Though in that case they'd just sit there in the middle of the road like a moron.

    Seriously?
Where I live you will get an 85 dollar ticket for not cleaning off your roof. The poor bastard behind you gets his windshield smashed because two days after a storm some iced up snow flies off your roof on the interstate. Ask me how I know. I chased a minivan down for doing that to me and his insurance bought me a windshield.

My wife almost got into a bad accident this way, someone swerved to miss that ice and almost sideswiped her. And same, assuming I or any passengers were not injured I would have made sure to get that plate and insurance.

If they actually get a ticket, sadly that seems rare.

Unless the snows thick enough that the heat just turns it to ice and ends up flying through someone’s windshield.

Why remove it? Just because it may cause injury or death to the innocent motorists behind you?
