oh the joy of size 12 boots... kinda limits you on board choices don't it?

all the rentals i've had are step ins... they suck. Not nearly as good of control as straps and yes they've been not very secure.

Season passes go on sale October 1st here... Can't wait :D:D

board fits together to ride as a snowboard, but you can disconnect and split the board to make 2 skis which you put climbing skins on, rotate the bindings which then will have a free heal, so you can more or less cross country ski up a mountain in the backcountry and make up serious time...cuts out the need to use snowshoes to access backcountry lines...

 never seen such an apparatus!

Only back country I've done was just off the resort. Lift to the summit...then hike 500' or so higher...ride the back side down then make sure to dip back in the resort before the bottom

GAH! Probably the happiest shit ever tho :yay:

mammoth definitely gets hammered for sure...last season looked ridiculous but your temps are always all over the board and with periodic rain seems like snow pack can vary greatly throughout the season...

check out the latest powder magazine...they had a great article on the mt baker ski patrol during last season where they got almost 900 inches! nice crapper material

i wasnt up there all year but during the regular season nov-late april early may, there is generally very little rain on the mtn. im recallig from memory but the town is about 1000 feet lower than the lodge so the town gets a lot more rain and washes out the snow in town but the mountain itself stays really consistent throughout the year. it not really till like late may early june when the rain starts to be a factor.
