Cool. JMU is a fun school. Lots of parties & drunk chicks. Best mtn within your driving distance is Snowshoe WV. Rode there a few times back in the day, that's the closest thing to riding out west IMO.

another question i have for you guys. is. how many times did you go and rent a board before you went and bought you’r own?

i went 3 or 4 times before i got my board. i new i liked it and wanted to advance. so mom and dad got me my board, bindings and boot for my 19th B-day. i got tired of having bindings one time and the next time step on kind. and crapy boards that are heavy.

Once I started getting into snowboarding, Sugar Mountain was the place to go in NC. Now that I am living in MD, I've been going to Liberty, which's less than an hour from where I'm at.

    My set up:

K2 WWW 159W, Union Contact bindings, and K2 Raider (although I might swap them out this year). My last set up was a Salomon Pulse with some crappy 5150 boots and bindings.

Yeah I know what you mean. I had my Salomon for 5 years before I finally swapped it out to my current set up.

Have you checked out http://www.the-house.com? If not, you should, they have a lot of good deals and are pretty easy to deal with.
