early into winter my ass...this time last year i was riding a 2ft blower day at BOGUS (doesen't happen often) brundage was pushing 3ft of pow

normally by this time every resort should be 100% open with 100% of terrain rideable, but my close local resort has GRASS still showing through on the main slope. im probably not going to get to ride the good backside parts untill the middle of February unless it just dumps

Been riding powder almost everyday here. 2 great laps OB today, all powder. Sketchy avy conditions exist right now but good snow everywhere if you know where to go. Large slides going off OB at JHMR, pretty crazy to check out.

im sure many of you guys have seen this harassment of 2 boarders at snowbasin caught on tape. their facebook page has absolutely exploded and anything they post gets turned into a massive shit storm on the resort for this incident. their "apology" post has 700 replies in it, and about 90% of thoes replies are angry comments about the resort and its snow attitude, or people calling for the guy's job. The reason the boarders got stopped is totaly illogical and unreasonable, and they way the ski patrol guy and the ski team "instructor" handled the situation was so disrespectful and unprofessional is is disgusting and aggravating.

    go pro FTMFW!

fuck those douchenuckles! did you guys see them doing anything really worth that much hurassment? dudes were just f'in around on some side features not causing any immediate danger to those around them...they weren't cutting them off or spraying them or straightlining it down the trail...

    so speed...NO
    endangering others...NO
enjoying the crappy snow conditions and lack of open terrain...FYeah!

i'm sure everyone at that mountain aren't like those two, but they definitely gave the whole mountain a bad wrap amongst our generation of skiers and boarders...so many other better options to ride at in Utah, so hopefully they have access to different mountains and find a better shred spot...

another reason why i love the backcountry!

our snowpack is weak right now and it will be a bittersweet welcome for the next big dump as many faces will be releasing with any big snowfall...

pics taken from last weekend riding berthoud pass...1-2 foot crown ripped almost 100 feet across...triggered by a rider doing an area that should not be ridden with the current conditions

Teton Pass rode well today, splitted up for two runs off Bear Claw. Both were north facing and untracked powder the whole way down. No slides were set off or noticed, but the snowpack is still unstable and still sketchy. Another good day here, but now its 45 degrees at the base of JHMR where i live and sun for a few more days. Not the greatest winter Ive had out here but still no complaints!!

hell yea! way to get out there and get it done!

glad you guys are having an ok beginning to the year...south of ya is still hurtin... and more and more avalanches popping up are showing just how sketchy our situation is becoming...

another slide at berthoud pass occurred on sunday...HUGE one! one caught and buried, but luckily his head ended above the snow...but suffered broken ribs but he got through it luckily..
