Just got my board back from a local guy who I had transform my 158 Capita Charlie Slasher FK into a Splitboard with a full inside edge. Also, just picked up a pair of Spark Burner bindings. Can't wait to ride it here in the next day or two to see how it turned out!

ok sweet. thanks. all i really need it to fit is the board and bindings. like i said i would like to keep road dirt/salt off for that ling of a trip. and from just vibration going down the road. it will be touching other stuff maybe like coolers and idk what els. i may try and get a soft topper or best top before i go as well.

yeah its been fine for me, i left it in the back of my truck with a suitcase for a 2 hour drive and with a bunch of stuff for another 2 hour drive and it was fine. there isnt any padding though so idk how it would do against a cooler for a long drive.

Pretty sure your board sees harsher conditions when you ride it every time compared to it just being in the back of the truck on a drive. I am slightly abusive to my boards I admit, but I just see them as being designed to take a beating.

I agree with you to a point. I don't use regular ski racks when I drive because the road salt and shit is really bad for the edges and the base. I use a Thule cargo box on my roof and I just throw my board in there with everyone else's and what ever else needs to go up there. Boards are going to get scratched up, but if you can keep the base and edges in good condition that's all that really matters.
That being said, if your board is going to be in the bed of your truck for a long drive, I'd use a board bag for the simple fact that you can keep all your boarding shit in there with it and keep your stuff organized while keeping it protected.

True. I never had to deal with it till this year. Always had the split seat in my bimmer and it just went there. I got a board bag when I bought this last one for free so I guess I can finally use it now.

yeah when i go with my buddy to the local slop we just put it on the snowboard rack on his FJ. i don’t care it’s only 1h away. but i know it will take a good 12 hours or more both ways, depending on traffic and if we hit a snow storm or not.
