Support your local snowboard shops. Go in there and talk with one of the sales guys (some times they can be pricks but the advice will be worth it). They will be able to gauge what size board you actually need depending on your skill level.

I would definitely go a few times before you go blow $1k on snow gear. Take your time and have fun. I have been snowboarding for 14 years, spent a few years sponsored locally. Grew up riding in WA now living in Reno. Riding Tahoe and loving it. Mts are sick here, if you have never ridden on the west coast your missing out big.

But thanks to the merciful God of everything including snowboarding, I will be all good to go again right about when the season starts!

And these crutches are giving me a great upper body workout.

Well, the most expensive and still pretty cool would be some heli skiing in europe sonewhere, BUT, since i don't do all mountain/back country anymore and just park.. id say a road trip in the States.. start at mamoth, go down to big bear, over to Colorado, hit up telluride, copper, aspen, a basin, etc.. then over to new mexico and the enchanted circle. take a month off and hit all those spots. Get an rv with some friends.. stay at the resorts and cabins.. great snow and ice cold beer.. ooooh.. got a little excited guys.. sorry. Lol.
