Thanks! Definitely a work in progress but also helps a tremendous amount that there was zero rust I was dealing with:bowdown::D

Nice build thread! Do you have any rubbing issues with those 285s? I want to upgrade I'm slightly rubbing with my stock tires when doing full turns, afraid I might have some cutting to do if I go any bigger. Got about 1.5" of lift in the front, might have to go up a bit.

That rear suspension set up  Looks great man!
How'd you score the King coilovers with resis? I can't find that as an option for 1st gens anywhere!

Now that I have more articulation in the front I can definitely get myself into positions where I can rub. Ive cut all the plastic and took a grinder to the pinch welds (a BFH didn't work). After grinding I barely rubbed but plan to cut a section out of the fender and do some sheet metal work in there.

Aside from that the 285s are amazing. Glad I didn't opt for anything smaller! Hope this helped:notsure:

Yea they don't offer it on their "oem" line. I went through DSM and told micah I wanted resi's on them with a 45 degree fitting from the hose to the resi, and angled the attachment on the shock body itself at a 45 degree angle so I could bend them up and keep them out of the way.. (also a mall crawler factor:rofl:). If mounted horizontal I believe at full bump/turn I would hit the rest with my tire and knock it off

Hopefully that made sense, a picture would describe everything better :annoyed::anonymous:

Nope, it all made perfect sense. I'm just :jellydance:haha. I actually asked King directly but they told me it would be way to expensive to have a set made with resi so I dropped the idea for Madison's truck. DSM sounds like a great option though. Always hear great things about them for suspension, and they hooked us up with a rebuild kit when we were in a pinch.

Yea it really wasn't too much more.. after doing some research on shock fade I definitely wanted to opt for something I would be happy with for the long run and not encounter any shock fade

ps: Madisons soft topper is seriously giving me thoughts of one for myself, looks good!:annoyed:

How do her fox's fair? Just curious as I'm still debating on what set-up to go with.

She's running Icons up front and out back. Been happy with them so far. They feel a bit firm though due to the digressive valving. I'm running Icon as well, mine have the cdcv so they're a bit smoother. If we could do it over again we would both pick King though. If you're a faster driver Icon works well but King works well all the time. I've been really happy with mine but after riding in @goblue82 's truck the Kings are just too nice.

@YotaGurlIAm what's your take on your icons?

ugh I want a softtopper so bad, that was going to be my next "mod" after I saved up for a bit, but I just found a member on here that makes sweet custom rear bumpers for first gens for under $200, so I'm going to go get one this weekend lol. I can't stop myself :help:

Nice build thread! Super jelly of your truck!

haha just get the soft topper, you can find them super cheap and in good condition, and its good to have for camping! quick and easy!

Yeah exactly what you said, I liked them at first, but after realizing how stiff they really were, I'd probably go kings next time, or some other progressive valved coil over set up. I'm not a go fast kind of person anymore, I'd rather crawl.. 2wd regrets.
