Over a foot of snow in Portland. I'll admit 4x4 has suddenly become very appealing. As does owning a snow shovel.

Yeah, my dad was texting me photos of his backyard early this morning... Looks amazing but he's from the midwest so he's not exactly thrilled that the forecast has this stuff hanging around for at least into the weekend.

I was just there last week! My kids would have loved this. Have fun but be safe out there. Portland is not exactly known for being the most prepared city when it comes to the white fluffy stuff.

I'm no longer going to complain about it being sunny and 75 here in the middle of winter.

I set some radio stations. That's about it so far.
I dropped my Tacoma off at the dealership to have the hood repainted (cracked clear coat from PO). The loaner is a fwd Scion that is cowering in the driveway. Fortunately I have a back-up. Sorry to post this if it's a no-no, but snow days are great when you don't clutter them up with work and stuff! (My '75 is the green Bronco. My neighbor rolled by in his '71, so we had to get a pic!IMG_4904.jpg

I can't go play in the snow at the moment. Gotta wait for damage to be fixed, chains would F -up everything since the bedside is too close to the tire now.

I knocked a foot of snow off the truck and drove around a bit. These trucks with 4x4 studded snow tires are extremely capable. helped pull out a couple of stuck cars. cars are now staring to buff the snow to surface of polished ice. a lot people with standard tires rolling round that have no business being on the road.

    Shoveled my roof today @OffroadToy

Likely see quite a bit of rain in the gorge after all this snow.

I wish we got a foot of snow here in Georgia. We only got 2-5 inches last friday night, depending on where you're at. It stayed at or below 32 for a couple days, and it's going to be 70 friday!

Now it's basically all ice, right?

Fun for the first 12-24 hours but I heard last night that the Portland got declared an official state of emergency.

Stay safe on those hills, Oregonians...!

We got all ours last year. Seems to be just rain in the immediate forecast around here. But, one upside...you don't have to plow or shovel rain...

Seems to be the case, but luckily I don't need to be anywhere - I'll gladly take the extra days off!
