Then we impromptu decided to extend our trip down to Page AZ and drive through Monument Valley on the way

    Went and saw Antelope Canyon

Pointed the truck at dirt roads and found Lake Powell for a few beverages

Made a sunrise trip to Horseshoe Bend

    Kayaked up to lower Antelope

Then it was time to point ourselves back towards home. Goal was to dodge the interstates until Denver. Had an awesome drive through four corners, to Durango for some beverages and out to Colorado Springs before we settled in to just make miles home

All said and done we did just under 4k miles and had an absolute blast. Super happy we bought the second gen for trips like these

That being said, I’m at a bit of a crossroads with the truck now. I don’t really wheel it like it is built for but I’m not sure what else I like more for $15k. Considered a 100 series or a Sequoia after riding around in my friends 100 and 200 series, but I’m just not a wagon guy even if they are nicer and fit my needs better.

By the time we got home there were some things that could be addressed and I decided to polish things up a bit to see if I fall back in love with the truck again.

Front suspension was creaky/squeaky, sounds petty but it was making me insane. So I blew the front end apart and put new LCA’s with rubber bushings in instead of poly. So so much quieter now.

ABS light was on for a RF speed sensor, found a break in the wires to the sensor, patched them up and put the light out.

CEL is on for evap canister codes again. Tore things apart and found evidence of salt water in the vacuum motor. Junk in 6 months. Obviously some sort of issue in the vent system allowing debris in. Blew on the vent and found the source of my issues I believe, loose pipe fitting at the fill neck getting blasted by water from the tire. I imagine it got jostled loose with the old body lift. PO had the issue for quite some time repeatedly too.

Replaced the fuel cap, canister filter and canister itself. Sealed up the vent tube at the fill neck as well. Fingers crossed I’ve got this issue resolved. Parts are annoyingly expensive.

Replaced the chopped up drip rail striping with fresh OEM stripping

Put out the TPMS light, finally. I attempted pulling the connector out of the TPMS module in the headliner but the light just flashed once and stayed on. So I jumped power to the TPMS light in the harness behind the glovebox and put the bastard out for good.

Feels super nice to have zero lights on the dash for the first time as long as I’ve owned the truck. Hit 130k on the way back home so I’m right at 13k miles out on it in the first 10 months of ownership
