Negatory, forecast had rain in it and somehow it was more slippery this year than last with way less rain. Levi ended up leaving his trailer at the bottom too. Just an empty tow rig turned into a slot car coming down to the turn.

    In other news...

The 7.3 went to its new home with a coworker last night, I was sad to see it go but it was time...it will help fund some new furniture and Tacoma parts... Bought hydro bumps and am waiting for Barnes enduro joints to go back in stock for my next order :)

Ham is what you have if you’re a real overlander.

I went for this 15w GMRS unit hard mounted in the truck after trying out Levi’s handheld Baeofengs and having Joe not able to hear me 100ft away on a tuned cb. Grabbed a couple of handheld baeofengs to hand out if guys still have CB’s. $120 for the Midland and $40 for a couple baeofengs seemed like a no brainer

You are not cool unless you get a headset and mic

Links have been ordered! Went with a Barnes DIY kit and picked up some bump pads, shock towers and miscellaneous gussets/tabs. The hour of cutting and grinding to make one fish plate was worth the $7 for them to cut them out for me.

I wish i went with this logic.... i spend hours cutting paper to 20 gauge to the final thickness in tabs and brackets only for them to not work and start all over lol. I did start buying one of each tab from ruffstuff and barnes to use as templates though and that helps haha.

The Tacoma really needed some better in cab storage in addition to a flat surface for future dog to ride on. So I channeled my inner overlander and killed two birds with one stone!

Just some 1/2” OSB I had laying around. I would have preferred plywood but OSB should be fine with as little moisture as it sees

Official day 1 of the 3-link project

Got everything stripped down to bare frame. Next step is supporting the drivetrain and chopping the frame
