From the actual tie rod end (heim in my case) to the underside of the arm. The bung/draglink would hit the arm with it under so I moved it on top. But I just saw you mentioned your going to use that y mount setup which will eliminate your issues

Mutt? Lol We think some sort of collie/lab/husky mix. 10 months old and about 35 lbs, so good wheeling dog sized

Steering is set, just need to permanently mount the box, clean up some brackets and spend a bunch of quality time under a welding hood

Had to change direction mid stream and switch to over the knuckle steering to better line up the tie rod and drag link. Had wicked bump steer with them not being in line below the knuckle. Just waiting on tapered inserts to show up to finally pin down the steering box location. Had to switch to a flat pitman arm as well. Worth it to keep the panhard high and the roll axis angle low for streetability.

I got shock towers 3/4 welded in and set the truck on its own weight for the first time in 3 months to check spring rates and lengths from Accutune. It looks like they nailed it, it should settle about an inch from here for right at 5” of bump travel. Feels like I’m starting to get close...

Shock towers are fully burned in. Just need to finish capping the notch for the steering shaft on the drivers side. Steering box is 100% burned in too. Had to rip another piece of 2x3 to double the frame up some after it needed a massive notch to match the drag link and panhard angles.

Officially on the road and didn’t kill my wife or the dog on the test drive! Drives great and is 1 finger on the wheel up to 70-75 easy. Strange to not have 2 inches of slop in the wheel from whooped leaf bushings. Also crazy how much better it rides on the road with coils, way better than expected

Super happy with where the ride height turned out. I’m right at an inch lower in the front, should be perfect for when I’m loaded with gear and tools

Got the front bumper done just in time to head out wheeling this weekend. Also did a bunch of little things like relocating the winch solenoids under the hood and hooking up in cab winch controls, mounting my GMRS radio in place of the CB, adding USB ports in place of a cigarette lighter socket, and a quick service on the AC for the season
