So I have an old snugtop shell and recently the rear hatch fiberglass detached from the trim holding it in place. The trim had become brittle and so I pulled it. I need help finding the type of trim I need to reattach the fiberglass if possible. Anyone info appreciated.

No local cap places. Or within 2-3 hours of me. Considering just calling snugtop and seeing if they can send me the trim.

I also have a snugtop and went to into the rabbit hole of trying to find the right trim, not easy. I ended up removing the brittle trim, keeping the decent stuff and then putting silicone in the channel and placing the window back into the frame. Not sure if this method will work without using some trim because it helped hold it into the right position in the frame. It has worked fine for the past 10,000+ miles. If you go into my post history for back in December 2021 - January 2022 you will probably find some chats regarding it. I think I did eventually find the right trim but it was pricey and came in like a minimum of 50 feet or something so I said fuck it use some silicon and get it over with. I also could not find any shops willing to touch the window.

I did keep the old trim. Most of it is still in tact. Do you know what exact silicone you used to keep it snug after going with the old trim?

Also went in a rabbit hole like you said calling snugtop and glass window repair shops showing them the photos and it was not what I hoped. Snugtop would be able to send the trim but it would likely be on back order for 3 months

I have the same issue with an ARE top, but the hinge is falling apart. Bought this from someone thinking I could fix. But ARE tells me to pound sand.

    Call AA Toppers in Colorado.

They can probably help you out better than Snugtop. They always have for me.
