I love the look of the truck with it on.

Without it, it still looks nice but it looks so badarse with it on.

Quick side question: do you get many leaks in the corners if it rains?

3" Lift via OME 881's, Bilstein 5100's, Dakar OME 3" leaf packs, MBRP custom exhaust, HID headlights, CB, Canopy, aluminum wheels, upgraded sound system, full set of studded snow tires and wheels, auxilary lighting, more to come.
I think it looks great on and off. I personally have one and rock it both ways haha. Sometimes I just like to change it up. Yours looks mean with it on. I think a lifted taco with meaty tires and a Canopy just looks so "equipped" for lack of a better term. I mean it keeps people guessing, "what's goin on in there?" Spare tire, tools, wheelin' accessories, bodies? Who knows? haha. Long story short. On.

Plus, it's like a huge lockable trunk.

I'm going to get some hate for this because so many people have shells, but if you want the profile of a van, go buy a van... ;)

    In other words, off.

Not sure why all the 2nd gens tend to like no shell, but quite a few first gens do.

For a more impartial vote, go look through the voting results of http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/93102-official-1st-gen-members-choice.html and count how many of those trucks have shells. (I think I saw 2-3, one of which was only on as the last pic).

Wow. You are so right. Screw this, I am off to sell my Tacoma and go get an Econoline. What was I thinking? Maybe I'll get some shag carpet, too.

ya that makes little to no sense. it's not the 'profile' that defines the car.

looks better on IMO - not to mention it rides better, is quieter and you can lock your stuff up when traveling, etc. although less of an issue with a dc than other body styles.

I know ya'll are just upset that I said a shell makes it look like a van. Maybe if I said it makes it look like an SUV, you'd feel better.

And ya know, I think I've seen a lot more shag carpet in trucks with shells than in vans, but I'm just saying...
