I'm looking to get a topper for my 18' ACLB and I believe I have narrowed it down to these two models. I planning on making this a camping machine w/ drawers, bed, etc. Plan on keeping the camping stuff in there full time.

Looking for opinions or thoughts on these two models. Options you like/don't like or wish you would have gotten etc.

Current planned options are... Flip up side windoors, sliding windows with mesh screens, and various lighting options. Not planning on putting a rack on the top.

The Snugtop has a flip up front full picture window which I think would be good for ventilation at night. The ARE only has a full picture flip down window which wouldn't work for ventilation at night.

Both companies make top end canopies. I've owned two Rebel's (on two trucks), and would buy one again. ARE's are good too. I believe the option you're referring to is called a Windoor and both companies offer it as an option. What you'll find is that the standard/stock sliding windows with screens allow more ventilation when they're open than the windoor does. The exception is, as you say, when you flip the windoor up. The problem I have with that is I sometimes want ventilation without having to flip up the Windoor: when my dogs are in back, camping in the rain, stealth camping, and while driving. Still, I like the look and convenience of the Windoor. When I ordered my current Rebel, I compromised and got a Windoor on one side and a standard slider on the other side. I have the flip down front window (I don't know if flip up is an option). The only time I use it is for cleaning with windows.
