I have a ARE CX model shell on mine with no leaks. I think it depends a lot of the mounting of it and make sure its done properly and not just out in a hurry to get it on. Good luck on your search!

20201026_121929-1.jpg Mine is also a snug top rebel it came with the truck when I bought it no leaks at All, the only bitch I have is the surface below the windows is kinda wavy from the mold when it was made I'm guessing? The rest of the shell is absolutely straight as the rest of the truck

I've got a 17 TRD OR with a SnugTop Rebel on it. I love the thing. I mainly got it so I could put my dog back there (he's large and the back seat is just too small for him). I had 1 issue with a crack in the paint a few months after install. My local shop sent it back under warranty and its all good now. Had to wait for that whole process, but I was fine with that seeing as I didn't have to pay a dime for the repair (their warranty seems to be worth it so far). No leaks here though and have taken it offroad on some pretty bad wash board roads with no issues to the durability of it, but only time will tell that. I've only had it for a few months haha. 20201111_093625.jpg

thanks for checking for me. Would you estimate the bedrug to be about 1/2" or 1"? Would the spot that you measured be most likely the highest ceiling height from the bed?

It certainly can be difficult, if not impossible, to get specs from the various manufactures. Have left three messages over two weeks with Leer and nothing.. even sat on hold for an hour one day and could not talk to a human.

The Bedrug is less than 1/2" and the carpet on the roof is much thinner. The roof is flat, not angled, so it should be the same night front to rear in the middle.

SnugTop too heavy. Get an Alu-Cab. Only 125lbs. Looks cooler too (IMHO). Downside = $$$ & no paint match if that is important to you.

Cool. I used to have a Snugtop. Loved it, just like the new Alu-cab even more. I did the same as others, bed rug, lights, shelves, molle panels, EcoFlow Batt in back with Alt charger. Nice setup!!!

I got lucky with the one I got its already carpeted and well taken car of. I am getting it line x sprayed on the exterior and mounting my rooftop tent on it as well. My plan is secondary battery as well.

Why Line-X the outside. I know is is super durable but it also adds A LOT of weight. Weight is you enemy on the Taco since it does not have a large cargo capacity (One of the things I am always thinking about). I do like the look of trucks that are completely line-x'd but then I think of the weight

I have long travel suspension on the truck so weight doesn't bother me much at the end of the day

I gotta admit, I would love to Line-X the whole truck. Have seen it a couple of time, super cool and you never have to worry about pin stripes.

Paid $1800 on Craigslist a couple of years ago. No leaks, LED strip lights on the carpeted lid and it looks great. SnugTop for the win in central Baja! Edit: airbags are a must!

No longer local. When the same company that owns Leer bought them they moved South to Mexico. My Hiliner Sport on my 2023 is still the same quality I've had on my other SnugTops though.
