I’m surprised there are any tailgates left in Cali for all the shit that’s getting stolen.

It’s getting as bad as converter thefts. Who buys these things? It would be nice if the thief knocked on your door and offered you first dibs on it.

Tail gate gets stolen->The person who gets stole from goes on Facebook marketplace because they need another tailgate->Buy a stolen tailgate

if you go on Facebook marketplace there's lots of them and they are all posted by women. my theory is dudes use their girlfriends Facebook hahahaha

I totally don’t get riled up by this as a regional or cultural critique.

There are 500,000 trucks registered in CA’s Orange County (pop. 3,000,000 or so). And then there’s a week or month when 20 Tacoma tailgates go missing in a Tacoma-saturated jurisdiction. Whatever.

There are 60,000 people in a jurisdiction like Cheyenne, WY, and they’ll have a month where 20 Silverado tailgates go missing. (Entire state pop. ~ 200,000).

Don’t get me wrong—watch your stuff and eff those criminals and send them all to salt mines of Kessel to die. But wah wah CA is also wah wah WY and wah wah lots of different places.

Yep, people just want to indirectly spew their political views by saying things like “Commiefornia” and all the wah wah CA stuff.

I put a Sabell co security lock on my tailgate. I know it saved me already. Attempts have been made. Unfortunately they took my catalytic converter. Now I have a shield under there.

Crime is legal here. Stop parading your wealth around and keep your truck locked in a garage at home.

Wish there was enough space in the garage for the taco

Just keep everything locked up at home, only go out when absolutely necessary, and hope nobody does a home invasion. That’s the California way.
