There is a shortcut to the beach from Gorman but it's still about an hour drive. Pyramid lake is nice and not far. Maybe 15-20 min drive down the 5. kings campground is a little out of the way and yes, I believe to get there you need an action pass however it's near a cool little river/pond however I'm sure it's all dried up right now.

enlighten me on the shortcut from Gorman?! I've taken Frazier Park to Lockwood valley road to the 33 before straight down through Ojai and ended up at C street. Is there another route from Gorman?

well, I use the term shortcut loosely. If you got down the 5 a little further, you eventually get to the 126 which you can take straight through to Ventura. I think it's a little quicker than going from Frazier to the 33 through Ojai. all the 30 mph roads in Ojai are a bitch!

I think the 4x4 course they're talking about is the one that's normally there but it's still pretty cool. I've never seen any other 4x4 courses but this one has some good variety. all sorts of concrete and rocks, a water crossing, a big hill with varying degrees of difficulty, and other shit that I have no idea what it's for. :D

Yeah I'm the same way. But not sure if there's any fishing there at Gorman. There's stuff not too far from there like pyramid, castaic and piru. But all of them are at least 30-45 minutes away.

Front long travel custom: king 10" CO, solid lowers, fabbed spindle, heimed everything ect. Rear still in progress, waiting to be put on: bilstein 9100s, T100 axle. Stock 3.4 engine, 4.30 gears.
So you guys staying in Gorman the whole time or ocotillo too?

I might be down to stop by maybe stay a night. I live pretty close. All crawlers or any 2wd guys going???

Fishing castaic dam would be the best bet considering the time of year. surfing anywhere southern facing you'll score, waters around 70.

What trails are everyone else doing?

It's versatile there and 2wd friendly for sure.

I'm down to cruise around some of them
