Yeah we did! I ended up going out there and got to the top no problem on a trip with my mom. It's really not too bad except for going down the hairpin turn at the second to last turn before the top. On a trip before that one we drove out the back way to the West, which was also a really fun trail.

I see no reason why not...I mean I have nothing to do with this run other than providing info, But this is TW & if a thread for a run/meet /whatever is posted up it is assumed its an open invitation to all who wish to attend, so I'd say "welcome aboard"....:)

Yep! Fun trail, but a little crazy with something like 14 trucks. I didn't end up going up the pancake 'cause I'm open/open and pretty much everyone else that went up used their lockers.

Haha, that's what I'd do! When I moved out of Davis I drafted off of my dad driving the moving van for the trip down to SD and ended up getting something like 21mpg, which was flipping awesome!

I guess it is if we go I5 or 99 but I wouldn't want to do anything less than a convoy of Tacos

Holy crap !! 14 trucks on pancake ?? haha, thats nuts....:eek:

Truth be known you could've gone up the rock open/open, we had 2 last time we went, that granite face is solid as hell,no loose shale or granite, tires (even bald ones like mine) grab the face of it like velcro...

Yeah it was crazy! Here are some photos from it: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/of...o-east-county-pancake-rock-7.html#post7127025

And one of the FJCs broke an axle or something so that held up the back 5 trucks and then there were two or three jeeps in a different group trying to go down...it was a mess! Luckily there was enough room to pass at the spot where the FJC broke, otherwise it could've been bad.

Hmmm well I'll have to give it another shot sometime. I think some people started open/open and then had troubles so they locked up and that made me decide against it. Ah well, I had fun regardless.
