    There was a hiring panel on monday to decide which of the remaining candidates were fit to enter the academy. My background investigator, psychologist, director of hiring and a captain, I believe, were all present to discuss weather or not I would able to cut it in the academy and as an officer if I were to graduate. I was informed I passed the panel and I am in the pool of eligible applicants. Now I have to wait for the academy to start to see if I am one of the chosen :pray:

    Facebook, was the only account I had and barely used, was shut down 8 months ago. Nothing to hide, but I figured why have it active if I dont use it anyway

    The Alice in Wonderland question is part of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. It has been a standardised test for a long time. The question rates malsculinity. You should NOT try to be honest with these types of tests. They are bogus, like much of law enforcement applicant testing, such as polygraphs, etc. This is an adversarial hiring system, just like in court... do not trust the prosecution. The sole reason this test exists is to prevent your hiring. Avoid things like disliking authority, liking to work with your hands, liking working with numbers, avoiding order, being feminine, etc. They want you to be what a cop's personality is supposed to be. Don't give them a reason to reject you. I know you passed but I tested with an officer whon was a ten year veteran police officer who built engines in his garage as a hobby... things like being honest about liking to work with your hands or disliking doing things the old tried and true way will get you rejected. He was rejected for not being likely to last as a police officer. But he was a ten year vet you say? Silly things like common sense are not part of the law enforcement screening. Its all about some study showing that you will get sued less if you follow X, Y, and Z protocols. The $100K/yr higher ups institute these screens to justify their bloated salary. This is NOT about finding good officers. Its about eliminating a bunch of people from consideration.

    Thanks for the feedback. I am aware that all the phases of the hiring process are to weed out people whom should not be officers. But as with any test, the results are reviewed by a specialist who has the job of looking at everything as a whole. There are going to be different results depending on who reviews the results. In the psych exam, as far as I know, the psychologist reviews the results and then makes his/her interpretation of what those results mean. I was lucky and had a very smart, understanding psychologist who took time to clarify anything that seemed out of place. Its hard for me to believe that after answering 600+ questions they look at a handful of questions and determine that someone is unfit, excluding the obvious questions surrounding suicide and authority and things of that nature. It is impossible that there are no officers in the SFPD who didnt say they liked alice and wonderland, one of the best selling books of all time, and they wouldnt like to work as a mechanic. I know they want to disqualify people at every step, so I am just happy I was honest and ended up in the pool of eligible applicants.
