Pretty easy to do when you are also "owned" by the federal government. In fact one might even go so far as to question the EPA attacking GMs competition.

My in laws raise grass fed beef. The absolute best. They bounce around their few acres happy as can be, they're treated right and processed humanly. The quality of beef is amazing.

"Grass fed" beef is only good if it's corn finished. Otherwise it's shit.

Keep the conspiracies coming. I will laugh at you when the EPA is a shell of what it once was in a few years.

The diesel regulations are completely absurd and unreliable. There's a reason why emergency vehicles are exempt from CARB.

Following the TDI emissions scandal, a friend in the auto industry said, "All manufacturers do it, VW just got caught." Take it for what you will.

I've witnessed a very interesting transition regarding the perception of diesel vehicles over one generation. When I was a kid, any personal vehicle powered by diesel was considered "Uppity," "City-fied," and "Liberal." Granted, I come from a real back-woods area. Now all my kid-brother's teenage buddies want "4x4 Cummins Diesel long bed crew cab" trucks because it's the cool thing.

This Toyota diesel thing comes up so often and people are always so sure that Toyota is bringing it but they never are. You can go back so many years and so many threads and so many members and it never happens. I know it’s never going to happen because I listen to Toyota when they tell me they’re not going to do it. But some people always know better than Toyota.

Pretty sure toyata has done the math. Cost to develop Diesel to meet US requirements needs to be less than the profits they will gain from going about it. Quite simply, they are likely not going to move enough units to support the costs. And really... a 6 cyl diesel is going to be a weak compromise.

If I need diesel power, I'll go buy a full size truck. Ford. Chevy. GMC. Dodge. Nissan. Then I have power and can haul more weight.

What the sales person told me was a diesel would end up costing about $6,000 more per truck,so we would be paying upwards of $50,000 for a Tacoma,so like he said it would price out 80% of the buyers.

Exactly it's forcing the hand of the manufacturers to go electric . They've set the bar too high . If there was a way to do it it would have been done. 2025 is going to come to fast for the manufacturers . What the consumer will end up with is a disposable car . The fiat 500e for example has a battery pack that costs around 1500$ less than the whole car . When it is rear ended and needs a rear body section it folds down and shorts the battery pack . Instant total. But let's look at the other side of the coin . What happens in 5-10 years when it needs a battery?how is it helping the environment to be pumping out cars like that?

Battery production is right up there with coal mining for earth impact. EVs are a small percentage of total sales right now. My hope is that by the time the sales really kick off, there is viable battery recycling. I'm talking about remaking new packs, not park benches or some shit.
