From 2010 to 2022 I drove a Tacoma 3.4 TRD extended cab that I’d upgraded with wheels, tires, full suspension, dual batteries, and Leer canopy but then totaled it when I hit black ice on the interstate in January of last year.

I replaced it with a 2010 crew cab TRD and added the Leer canopy again along with aftermarket wheels, tires, suspension, sound system and drove that for a year but HATED it the entire time. Last weekend I got rid of it and bought a 2002 TRD extended cab again and am starting the upgrade process again but am selling stock so I can pay for it this time and get it done quickly.

Guys, it’s such a great feeling being back in a 5 speed TRD extended cab, I’m so glad I got rid of that 2010 short bed. Quick question for anyone who who might know; the 2004 had a hybrid drive by wire throttle body while the TB on my 2002 is all mechanical. Is it possible to upgrade or swap the TB on my 2002 with a 2004 TB?

Asking mostly cause I’d like to do fully electronic cruise control without the cable and CC module on the passenger side of the engine bay. Photos in order are the 2004 TRD I owned until a year ago, the 2010 I owned from 2022 until last week, and the 2002 I just bought. Cheers!
