Dude....it has suspension tuned for the street and street tires. Don't get upset just because you should have purchased the model with more buttons.

and your sarcasm meter is in need of calibration.

"dude" no sarcasm implied - as I said, too many variables involved. Your "general" statement is full of crap!

So you don't think the limiting factors are more often than not due to the driver, tires, or ground clearance?

Every time I've been stuck or helped recover a stuck vehicle it has been one of those (or a combo of them). I'm curious what your experience is to say with such confidence that I'm full of crap.

It's not the arrow its the Indian.

That being said ATRAC really does help especially if your tires aren't great.

You said - "I wouldn't take a TRD sport off road in stock form without hiking boots" - you didn't say anything about limiting factors - drivers, tires, or ground clearance! Now you want to qualify your "general" statement by introducing the "variables". Having a debate with a fool is like lighting a candle for the blind.

You know you're debating a pretty obviously joking statement, right?

I laughed, at any rate. Or rather, giggled.

Full moon getting to you or was your butthurt so strong after reading the comment on the TRD sport that you didn't bother to scrolled down and read the rest of my post?:rofl::rofl:

I also find it ironic that you mention lighting a candle for the blind when you overlooked the 'variables' in my post. You might want to go back and take a look.

You, my friend, are lighting a candle for a blind man. I know sarcasm can be hard to grasp when the statement is in text, but holy Jesus it was so obviously, plainly clear that his original comment was dripping in it. Lighten up.

Overlanding and hiking are the biggest reason I love my 2nd gen Tacoma, our last trip was to the Grand Canyon by way of the Great Western Trail down from Kanab, UT. We had epic campsites on the rim of Marble Canyon and overlooking Lake Powell; even with camping gear for 10days and backpacking gear the Taco had no issues with the creek crossing, mud, rocky hill climbs, and the endless miles or rough trails. The final touch to our trip was backpacking South Rim to South Rim on South Kaibab to Bright Angel.

For the first part we were with a fairly large group, and it may not have been nice but a 4th gen 4Runner and I may have rubbed our extra horse power in the face of a few 22RE owners.

Yes, and you should see the gasps of disbelief when people buy the most expensive 4x4s just to see some sedan or 2WD pickup go pretty much anywhere they bought the 4x4 to go!

In Mexico, very few have 4x4s, and they drive the beach or really bad roads to get to their fishing nets or cattle ranches. Nobody told them they need four wheel drive!

4WD, is insurance or comfort to get places without chance of damage or stuck. It is just a lot easier to drive poor traction roads with 4WD.

You tell me. My truck only has OEM Baja suspension in the video with 1" larger KO2 tires. Realistically the crappy stock tires will be the limiting point IMO:

Edit: And no I was not the one that filmed it vertically.

As earlier mentioned there are many variables! Slinging mud they're all fully capable. Throw some good sized rocks in and then skill and mods come into play. DCSB or DCLB can be a factor. The biggest factor to me is the newer tacos seem to be too nice to take off-roading. Get that out of your head and its full steam ahead.
