    Congrats on the new purchase!
    Post up some pics!

Any Tacoma will get you to places you never thought you would see. Enjoy the hell out of it. A bed mat is the 1st thing you should buy. Never stand in the back of the bed while washing the roof without it. My wife fell on her ass. Once I stopped laughing I told her I’m going to the dealer to buy one.

Mod 1: Bed Mat. First day that I had the truck I loaded a half dozen 5 gal buckets of scrap metal plus some assorted larger pieces in the bed to take to the recycle yard. I pushed the buckets to the front of the bed figuring that they would slide there anyway the first time I applied the brakes. What I didn't expect was that they would slide back the full length of the bed first time I pulled away from a stop sign. WHAM! I thought that they took the tailgate out. I stopped and strapped things down and went on to the yard. I got a check in mail for about $70 for the scrap a few days ago so it almost covered the cost of the Toyota factory bed mat. Glad that I didn't have to buy a new tailgate as well. Picked it up today and it fits perfect and is nice and sticky so no more sliding loads! :)

That mat will be schtinky for a bit but the out gassing settles down after a couple months. Smells like a plastic rubber factory in China.

You are sure right about the smell. I will need to be careful with open flames near the truck...no BBQ sitting on the tailgate this football season.
