I tried a bunch of things. Nothing worked. That would have been nice.

Be sure to do your research first. When I was installing my remote starter last fall I found that some of the latest easy install remote starters are not compatible with Tacomas yet.

I actually found something very similar behind my radio. Ended up being a remote starter with the factory remotes. The dealer I purchased the truck from had no idea and one of the 3 kill switches was active under the hood. So they never knew. Try with your factory remote a lock unlock lock sequence to see what happens.

Mine looked like this thou. That box of yours looks like it is identical actually just rebranded.

The 3 kill switches for mine are
    The door open
The hood switch not depressed (not factory but added by someone)
    The brake pedal depressed

If any of the 3 are tripped the system will not remotely start.

I also have a small switch down near the OBDII port that turn the system on or off.

Hope some of this info helps you or someone else.

I hope you can figure out the sequence and its hooked up already. Score! Last post sounds promising.

I just installed a Fortin remote start system, and there is one wire that is clipped and intercepted by the remote start. If the module isn't in place, your car won't start until you reconnect that cut wire.
