So I painted and clear coated a fender...now what?

So....I finished painting a fender, I then sprayed it down with clear coat..... everything has dried for 24 hours per instructions (used paint from automotive touch up made to match my paint color code)

Time to buff now to help it match the gloss shine the rest of the paint has. Question is, do I use compound and then finishing polish....or the other way around?

How smooth is the surface finish? Why do you feel it still requires a polish? Personally I’d wait a little longer just to be sure it cured real good.

Like Eddie said, what a few weeks before doing anything. You want the paint and CC to cure, otherwise you might get bubbling later.

To answer your question, if needed, use compound first, then polish. Always go the most aggressive to least aggressive. You many not need compound, but maybe start with a cut polish then use a finish polish. Then wax/seal.

Cool, I still gotta drive the thing a bit... though, hope I don't get any chips in it.

Also. How many coats of clear did you apply. They will determine how much you have to take off before you burn thru.

1k or 2k clear? There should have been instructions with the paint.

Not really sure what that means, it was the spray clear coat that came with my paint that I bought from automotivetouchuppaint.com

Did it have a red thing you needed to put underneath it and puncture the membrane between the two parts or just shake and spray?

This is 2k. Regular cans are 1k.

Just shake and spray....the can in your picture appears a lot like a duracoat can with a Gardner in a separate container that you have to puncture and then mix (although they have to be used right away or they go bad)

Mine was a regular shake and spray though.

I couldn't get your website you bought the paint from to open. Is it mispelled? I'd reach out to the company if you can't find the documentation from the can or instructions on their site.
