What do you think Tacoma world? I recently saw a black Tacoma on the road that was lifted with a long and it looked perfect...

So I have an 07 double cab 4x4 with a short bed. The few times i put something in the bed (most recently my mountain bike) I noticed that the bed was short or whatever i put in the bed was as long as the bed. If I were to upgrade to a long bed would it be an strait swap? or would it take a little modification to have the long bed installed on the truck. There is also a stock tow package on the truck.

Buy a bed extender. You can fold the tailgate down and have all the room a long bed offers.

It would be a "lot" of modification. The frame & wheelbase is shorter on the SB.

If only it was that easy.

And yes the short bed on ANY truck is useless for hauling anything.

if you were using it regularly it would be a different story. A "bed swap" is only worth it if your going to be putting a short bed on a regular cab or acces cab

You're not going to fit a long bed on a short bed frame without major modification of the frame. The wheels sit in the wrong place for the bed. The frame is extended in front of the tires on the long bed. You'll also have to change drive shafts and extend wiring.
