It's hilarious lololol. OP stating opinion as fact. Everyone else in a pissing contest "no it's not" - "yes it is". Silly.

no. My truck won’t fit in my garage. It’s barely fit in my brother’s garage.

I tested his garage years ago when I got my truck from dealership lot.

I have 4 ft wide and about 6” deep box in the wall from floor to ceiling which kitchen is behind that wall. There are pipes inside that area. I wish that box gone so my truck can sit in garage. FYI, I have DCSB.

The guy test drove the 4runner around the block at the dealer and became an expert on it lol

Right lol. I guess I gotta at least give the dude props for doing a test drive. Most people would just by it sight-unseen for $50k from somewhere across the country, then get on here and bitch about how bad it "sucks" lol.

OP could give a F about justifications. I was looking to “upgrade” my Tacoma and walked away disappointed since it was going to be a downgrade in my eyes.

Did you refer to yourself in the third person? Lol. You are really trying to convince everyone that an older vehicle that came out in 2010 is a downgrade to a vehicle that came out in 2016.

It looks good! I want a 4runner. Test drove one too. Love the space and exterior looks. Biggest turn offs for me was the fuel economy, transmission, and the interior. IMHO, the interior looks cheap and dated. Even in the 23 TRD pro 4runner, those radio and climate knobs look like the same ones from 2010. Feel like it too! lol. IMO, the Tacoma looks cleaner on the insider, but Rav4 has the best radio knobs. I swapped mine out with those.

Not really trying to convince anyone of anything. Just presenting my point of view on the matter.

There is probably a way to get say a better riding 4 runner, which would be a ORP with kdss. But then you lose the jbl stereo for ex. You’re stuck with $2 paper Toyota speakers that I also had in my Tacoma and yet it 4R still retails for 50k… no auto headlights either. The skid also goes by the wayside. And you get the ugly wheels. At which point you still have to start tinkering with it some more.

I'm actually going to take a look at a 4Runner SR5 shortly as a starting point. Only TRD's I see online have that hood scoop which I don't like. Trusty 06 Tacoma is getting a long in the tooth and I don't have my GSD any longer. ("Santino" age 13 passed away last month)

Since you’re going from an older gen 2 it’s going to be a huge upgrade for ya. Enjoy !

I'm an older guy with simple tastes....If I decide to pull the plug and sell my 06 Quad Cab Off Road V6 I'll definitely post it here in San Diego Yard Sales first. I have all my original receipts.

Look for an SR5 Premium, it's a nice upgrade from the basic SR5.

Seems like a lot of the posts by people who say that they like the 4Runner better are people who actually own both. ;)

I've never driven a third gen taco, so no dog in this fight for me.

I just always get a laugh out of threads comparing Tacomas to 4runners. Both are fine vehicles. It basically depends if you want a bed, or or if you want grown-ups to be able to sit in the back seat.
