So is it my carrier bearing?

So when I press the brake pedal I hear a "klink". I asked around and some people told me it was probably time to get my brakes checked. Ok, so today I went to NTB to get then to put front pads on and check my brakes. After a ,of course, ridiculously long wait they came out to tell me that my brakes are fine and the front pads have about half life left on them . They say it's my carrier bearing and it will cost 378 to fix. Yay. But they don't have and can't find the part anywhere around. They took me out to show me how much play it had. It would move a 1/2 inch or so when they yanked on it. However, my truck rides smooth and sweet. No vibration etc. In fact my rig runs uncannily nice. So do you think it's that carrier bearing making that klink when I press the brakes or something else? My rig is a 2011 dcsb 4x4 V6 auto with a Bilstein/OME 884 and 3 stage progessive aal setup with 60K on it.

Is the sound heard when depressing the brake pedal after reversing then going forward, and vice versa?

If so, take the pins off your brake calipers, clean everything up with brake cleaner and reassemble. The pads might be sticking/shifting for all the dust and dirt.

Check u-joints, they usually make the "klink" sound when going bad because of the hollow drvshft.
Brake pads shifting in the calipers is more of a "click" because of the thicker metal.

A fairly loud clunk after pressing the brakes for the first time after going from R to D is completely normal. If you're hearing it other times than the first press of the pedal after shifting, it's some other issue.

Cb usually don't click...... U will feel a shudder and may hear a groan, but no metal/metal clunk.

Could be ur pads shifting, they do that when they wear down some
