I would be more worried about the ride and wear and tear on other components over time. Getting some 5100's, some springs an AAL and possibly some UCAs (which I recommend) is hardly more than spacer lifts, and in the long is just the better route than a spacer IMHO.

That is definitely a better option for offroading and overall. I am biased because thats my current setup though :D

Your right why do they even sell real suspension components. Everyone sell your ICONS a get rough country NOW.

Now tell me how hitting a big ass pothole is any different than off roading?

If you improve the suspension you stand less of a chance of causing damage.

If you just add spacers and blocks your degrading the suspension. Your more likely to cause damage.

Just becasue you have not fucked your truck up yet riding around the mall does not mean everyone will be so lucky.

I bet you still swerve to miss "big ass" potholes with your icons to so as not to fuck anything up on your truck!

I think your missing the point there big guy....im not getting into a dick swinging contest

My point is not to say that icons or whatever lift of your choosing is not a great set up for offroading. My point is that if your never going to offroad as op stated that a spacer lift is perfectly acceptable. Im not even saying its your best option because we all know its not but your not gonna crush your f'in UCA's and break shocks everytime you drive or everytime you hit a pothole since were stuck on that.

Im not even gonna touch on how hitting your everyday random once every mile pothole is different than offroading. and yes if you upgrade your suspension you do have less of a chance of breaking shit

Has anyone ran a 275/70/17 tire? They are just a hair taller than than 265s and just a hair wider. Not as much as the 285s tho

I think they are tough to find, compared to the 285 but I do know there are a few around here running that set up tire selection is slim tho.

Yeah, only a few manufacturers of 275's, like BFG, and some others. Honestly, a 265/70-17 Duratrac is a fairly large tire. It runs larger than the 265 Revos I had before, and looks plenty big on my truck.

Sorry to jump your case about this. Its just the info I posted is from months of research, sending PMs, talking to people and trial and error. The guy says he was confused and I think we confused him even more. I was that guy on rough countrys website the day I bought my Taco getting ready to hit add to cart. Thankfully I waited and researched more.

Bottom line is OME makes a rock solid suspension for our trucks for a very good price.
