But as a second generation Tacoma owner you can't fit your donkey in a regular cab.

    Like, so many.
I had an '04 Frontier before my Taco. It was what I could afford at the time. It was a good truck, but not great. I had some issues with oil leaks and it's wasn't a strong motor, but I liked it. I considered a new one when I got my Taco, but just decided to spend a little more to get what I really wanted. I do recommend them though, especially the Pro4x.

I also find the seating position quite comfortable in my taco. It fits me like a glove Im 5'11" and got the sunroof, never thought the roof is too low. I do recline my seat quite a bit though, so that probably helps.

My very first 4x4 was a 91 Nissan Hardbody. That was an unstoppable truck! I beat it for 2 years and it never broke. It is still being used today, but I dont know how many miles are on it.

Those D21 were amazing trucks. I think they were almost as good as toyota pick ups at the time. You just dont see them anymore, but there are a lot of late 80s early 90s toyota pick ups over here.

I'm 5'11" as well. I could probably recline my seat back an inch and never notice the headliner. Right now, it's only when I wear a hat and that's not very often. I've had three 3rd gen Tacomas and they all had sunroofs, so it's definitely not something I'm stressing over. I need to play around with the power seats a bit. I set it real quick when I picked it up and haven't touched it since.

Don't forget to factor in how much more one pays for a Tacoma. One would expect a more expensive vehicle will have a higher used price than a cheaper one. :deadhorse:

odd, i looked at both trucks before making my purchase. Got my 4x4 OR (better equipped) for 500 more than what a pro4x was.

You did very well. When I was shopping Toyota wanted about $3750 more than Nissan.
True the Tacoma has more electronic wiz bang that the Frontier. Could care less.

I traded my '07 Frontier in for my Tacoma, but the my Frontier was a solid truck that never gave me a single problem that wasn't my fault. I only got rid of her because I was doing more trails and backwoods camping, and the 2WD Frontier just couldn't do it. I needed 4WD and in late 2015, the new Frontiers looked (inside and out) exactly like my 2007. SOOOO DATED. Tacoma OR was just newer and shinier and prettier.

So anyhow, I'm not a mechanic or a real "car" guy, so I can't explain it, but the Frontier had a bit more ooomph in the lower gears. You never felt it scream if you jammed the gas pedal hard off of a stop light. So I can totally relate in that regard... Overall, the Tacoma is much nicer (I never turned around and admired my Nissan in every parking lot, but I still pause and check this girl out every time I walk away). But yeah, my Frontier was still a good truck.

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) fwiw I randomly picked the model year of 2012 and NADA claims the Tacoma is worth $4,000 more than the Pro 4x (trade in and retail prices.)

I drove a 2WD Nissan Frontier rental truck for a month a while back (twice actually) and thought it was a good truck. Good power, decent ride, solid feel. The interior was basic but that's plenty fine with me. If I was going back to a smaller size I would highly consider it.
