So stupid

My husband and I bought a 2000 Tacoma truck from an estate sale of a 94 year old man who was original owner
Truck was sitting
in a very dark garage
Only has 62000 miles on it with perfect body and interior
After we paid my husband pulled the truck out of the dark garage and we were sick when we saw the extreme rust under the truck
He had it treated for rust in 2011 at Toyota dealer
I know we were stupid for not looking underneath
Is there anyway to get help from Toyota as being second owner?

What is extreme rust? Pictures of the frame?

 

It still has value. Especially if the body is in good shape.

Google is a powerful thing... Is this the first used car you've ever bought? If it is no worries, time for some learning. Take it to a mechanic and have them do an assessment would be my next step. See if anything needs to be repaired. You already know about the rust... There might be other issues you don't know about.

 

At that age Toyota will unfortunately tell you to pound sand... Could we get pictures?

Any assistance from Toyota for a 2000 model if eligible, would have expired in 2015
There are however open recalls on the lower ball joints and spare tire hoist on some vehicles.
