So there's no way to check manual transmission oil?

I've been searching for where manual tranny oil dipstick is for a 95 Tacoma without any luck. It looks like you just have to open up the fill plug to make sure oil is up to that point...which I assume means if you get it on your hands that's good, if not, fill it up.

if you're concerned about it just replace it.

Make sure you can open the fill plug otherwise you'll need to know the exact amount you drain and use the shifter area unbolted to refill.

You have ten of them attached to you (11 if its small enough and you can position yourself to get it in there:D). Pop the plug off and if you feel fluid you have enough. You shouldn't be losing any unless its leaking somewhere.

What he said. Actually have never seen it any other way.

Just be sure when you pull the fill plug to check that the vehicle is level F/R and S/S.

    I'm not 'forever' old. Yet.

While I've been around a lot of pre '50's rides/rods/racers, can't recall ever actually working on anything pre '56. And no, it wasn't new when I was working on it :p

However, '50's antiquities, or 60-ish YO stuff, is probably pretty much 'forever' to lots of folk around here.

    Sight glass = receiver/dryer

No sight glass = accumulator (although it's really the same thing)

I actually miss the sight glass. It was helpful. Not as good as gauges of course, but at least gave you a hint.

    How's that?
