Yep, and as soon as I crank it up to leave the lights stay on. Just my luck.

It seems mostly 2012 models at this point. There have been a handful of later years bUT mostly 12. 2012 was the first year for this stupid pump. Get ready to fork out nearly 2 grand....

Based on Toyota's history of NOT greasing their shafts recently i am gonna guess they're going in dry.

    To far?

Don't even waste time with the dealer, get ready to shell out $500 on a new valve set and take the time to replace it. Toyota is going to screw you on this, oh and welcome to the club.

    It will happen, just wait
I paid $400ish for my new assembly, took 1.5 hours to install and saved a ton of money by not letting the stealership touch it
    You're overdue

I'd be concerned tomwilson74 and 58 siesta.... Mine crapped out at 74,000, no warning. One morning out of nowhere the CEL light and Trac Off light came on, no big deal, but for it to go into limp mode because of an emission issue is just ridiculous. Had to be towed to the dealer.

This, limp mode over this part is a bunch of BS. Mine went without warning to while my wife was driving home with my 2yr old daughter. Crazy thought that my 53k mile Tacoma would leave them stranded huh. If I was traveling or towing It would have been a bad day, sad thing is that we are all going to have the issue repeat once we get the same mileage on the replaced parts.

Yep, a couple nights ago I filed a complaint with the NHTSA because of the safety concerns of going into limp mode. Maybe if enough of us 2012 owners gripe, Toyota will realize they screwed up with this air emissions BS. I've read where many of the Tundra & Sequoia had the same exact issues with air emissions and Toyota covered repairs, reimbursed folks who had already had failures, and extended warranties for this part. 2012 Tacomas have the same issue but we get no lovin' from Toyota.

Emissions have an 80,000 mile warranty per the Feds. Doesn't Toyota have to cover that?

One would think so, good luck with that one. I don't think a single member on here with this failure has had Toyota cover it under the emission warranty.

Stand By it will be back. Just saying. I also have a 2012 2TR-FE and I am not looking forward to it. I know it is coming and I only hope they do a recall before it hits me.

That is only for specific components such as the Cat converter for instance.

2TR-FE had the emissions pump from... 2005?... onwards. Never heard of a problem with it. I don't think you need to worry about it.

Dealership called and said it would be $2500. Damn! Out of 5 Toyota's I've never had an issue till now.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
man, that's some serious insight right there.

I wonder if this is something that you could just cut off...? If its the pump itself that has failed and needs to be replaced, then you probably could fake it by feeding it the appropriate signals.
