We are having a cold weather here. Not as cold as yours, about -7°C -5°C. I went for a short drive ~2 miles and temp was at the middle

    Not bad!

We gonna have -7C or so on Monday, lately it’s been like -35C.

Clutch pedal is slow to come up at times after driving for few minutes, but it’s not too bad.

    Beautiful though!

you could retrofit active shutters from a modern car to do this

but then it would be hard to get to, expensive, and break

No, we had a short burst of snow that created the usual chaos. Then the cold came in and seems to have blown it all away.

Man I remember last winter it took me 8 hours to go from new west to my then house in north Surrey. Like an inch of snow and city shut down…

Up here folks are used to it and absolutely no issues driving around here in the winter.

You should see Louisville traffic. When it rains, people are playing bumper cars, worst drivers of any place I've ever lived. Of course, many of them are running skins (no tread left). Don't even get me started on snow....

Man, after driving in lower mainland (Vancouver area) for 15 years or so, I can’t imagine any worse drivers than that.

I would say 95% of drivers there are absolutely clueless, zero common sense, no driving etiquette and completely miserable assholes. I used to see road rage daily, people fist fighting… Like that’s how you wanna start or finish your day? Yeah, No thanks. The population is growing so it’s just gonna get worse.

I’m so glad I’m outta there man.

We used to have to do this on my dads old k5 blazer in the winter. Ive been thinking of doing a "active grill" system on my truck eventually. Just using louvers and a actuator motor hooked to a switch.

My work truck (2017 F150) has these,,, I wish it would heat up faster though, it takes forever to heat up and drives horrendous until it does.

Im waiting for the 2024 tacomas to hit the lots near me, those should have the active grill on them. Hoping I can retrofit them onto my truck and setup a aftermarket motor system to open and close them when I want.
