yeah it sucks, but its not like the truck broke down or anything. There's nothing to indicate its impacting the reliability of the truck. Very frustrating, but very minor. At least to me. Solve it the 2016 way: a scathing yelp review!

My goodness...First of all, you realize every dealership is an independent business and is not Toyota the corporation, correct? If the dealership sucks, then take it to another independently owned dealership to have them check.

Secondly, if the truck didn't break down and the truck is shifting fine - WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?!

My god. You're going to ruin your experience with your new truck because you "feel" like it's not going to last? I'd hate to be in any sort of transaction with you. You just get cold feet and bounce lol

Not to sound like a total dickhead, but people do confuse this... Are you sure you marked the fill plug and not the drain plug?

The fill plug is up high over on the passenger's side of the transmission and has the big "WS" marked on it. It's a pain in the butt to get at.

The drain plug, however, is not far from the check plug, and often people just see another plug and think "oh, that's the other plug." It's definitely NOT to be opened during a top-off.

Besides, what kind of psycho marks the plugs before taking it to a dealer and asking them to do the work, like you're TRYING to catch them lying. Just tell them to check it...if they checked it, they checked it. When it breaks, it's under warranty. I've never seen anything like this.

There is a reason Tacomas and Toyotad in general hold their values. Toyota corporate probably has minimal influence with the dealer over one complaint. Take it to another dealer show them what the truck is doing it will be documented and it's under warranty. Down the road should something happen your covered with Toyota and the extended warranty. I dare you to go buy a Chevy Colorado (the only other kid size truck right now) and experience a similar resale value and overall cost of ownership. Not to mention the brain damage that goes with owning something made by GM

If you are having transmission problems at only 3/4 qt low then low fluid IS NOT your problem.

Do you need to know, or care?
If you don't trust the dealer you're dealing with, find one you do trust. At this point you're not sure if they did add it or not. Report says 3/4 low, which indicates to me they checked it and according to most who have had it filled it's close to the reports. To say you're going to get rid of it and go to another make, possibly with the same or worse issues, and take a loss is a little overreacting...sorry. Do you have a problem with shifting, or paranoid from all the threads in this forum?

This argument would hold water if Toyota dealers weren't confirmed by many users to be bullshitting customers about the check because "boo hoo, it takes too long."

The first dealer I tried flat out lied to me- and gave me a story about how they checked it which had nothing to do with reality.

Also, if a transmission fails at 75K and they tell you "lol, out of warranty!" you might be a little ass-blasted if they told you the levels were proper, but never actually bothered to check.

Only way to know how low it was is to top it off and see how much it took. Learn to do it yourself and get some sleep.

yea definitely get rid of the truck asap, running it that low for any period probably did damage to the internals, most likely causing early catastrophic failure. Toyota is terrible and i only drive one because they are the most reliable vehicles in the world, if it wasnt for that id get a Jeep or maybe a new Colorado. Im sure they dont have issues

Lost? You should feel like a genius. Passing on an extended warranty is mathematically the right move.
