I have a lightweight flywheel on my 2.7 with 295/70/17s and I love it. Sure it's a little more difficult to get going on steep hills, but if you can drive a standard, you'll get used to it in no time. The one thing I did notice is that revs drop more quickly between shifts, so you need to be moving when you shift if you're running a stock shifter. I have a hurst/core shifter in mine and it's great. When I was running the stock shifter with the lightweight flywheel though, I'd really have to move to shift and rev match

Thanks for the input. Do you happen to have your stock shifter for sale?

I do have one for a r155 I could sell. I think the r155f is different though. I can send some pics later today of what I've got

For what I can tell the shifter assembly part number is the same for the R155 and the R156.

Nevermind. I’m wrong the seat assy is the same but the shifter itself is different.

Hope you guys are right about the manual being better than the auto. I'm committed to the swap now.

What is NVTS? Is that just a typo and supposed to be nuts? I'm not up on all the new acronyms these days.

Manual is way better, I think you'll be pleased with the difference. Also having trouble seeing the pic

Do you need a seat still? I can separate what I've got if it will help with your swap

    Really? That’s weird.

No. Turns out the transmission had the shifter included new though they originally told me it wouldn’t.

No set date. I’m still gathering parts. But this definitely catapulted the project to full commitment mode.

So a 2.7 2and gen auto, I'm assuming 4.10 gears, 265/75r16 will be fine? 285/75r16 is probably pushing it since it's a auto?

That's what I have now. 245s P rated street tires. Just trying to justify the reason NOT to go with 285.

You just need to get used to how it drives. My truck had the 285/75/16 when I got it and I swapped t o305/65/17 which is pretty much the same height, just wider. I tow my boat with it and it's fine, just don't pull out in front of another vehicle.
