Im in the NG for almost 2 years now while in college(junior currently) and anything you might wanna know i can fill in for ya to the best of my ability.

 

NEVER, EVER come back stateside... Dude, I was at Aviano for 10 years (with a year at Osan, SK in between)... Stay put as long as you can...

Being in FL for the past 2 years has been nice but I'm feigning for Europe...

I was a military brat, after the wife and I get orders out of here, I will have spent almost 15 years overseas (I'll be 25 when we leave). I'm fiending for some desert though, have to go back.

Maybe it's a little wrong of me, but I loved hearing the reservists complaining of getting deployed. "I just signed up to go to college!" LOL. Sorry kid, no such thing as a free lunch.

I don't know what their recruiter promised them, but the first thing out of my recruiters mouth when I wanted to join was "What the F makes you think you can be a Marine?!?!"

Clever guys you recruiters...

 

Some recruiters are actually really good at their job. Mine fed me no bullshit, and was straight forward the entire time. She warned me that aircraft maintenace was a shitty job, and she was pretty on point. 16 hour days sucks.

That was probably your disqualifying factor. More of the neck tattoo than the too many kids.

 

I like it... I use something similar as well... They never know how to answer that question either as they envision the conversation more as a "Me, me, me, me" type thing.

 

Now's the time to join. All the a school lists are under 2 year wait now (besides PA). I waited around 1.5 years to go to BM A and its a 0-3 month wait now.

The ME A school list is currently 18-21 months.

 

Yea, my bad, ME. When I was in we called it MLE, but that was before it was an A school.

Lol that is the wrong reason to join the reserves. You want benefits, you do what you signed up to do.
