Installed new urethane shifter bushings I got from @Brice

What a pain in the ass it was. The front pin was dang near impossible to get to and without taking a lot of the interior apart, I couldn’t get the shifter out of the truck. I do have some tips and tricks to do it if anyone needs advice.

In review, these bushings made a remarkable difference in the operation of the shifter. I didn’t have this truck when brand new but I imagine it is now as good or better than new. I was missing 2 bushings completely and the other two were in sad shape. The shifter flapped and flopped around over every little bump. Now it’s tight and darn near silent. Thanks @Brice !!!

Unfortunate it was such a pain, but I'm glad it made such a difference. :D

By chance did you see the tutorial video I had posted?

If you're still looking for a solution for a winch cover for the synthetic line, I got some weatherproof canvas stuff and cut it to size and wrapped it around the synthetic line on the drum. Works super well.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018YJQ59S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was planning on sewing in some velcro to secure to itself, but it stays in place when I just tuck it underneath the front side of the drum.

Much cheaper than the winch covers you can buy and looks better imo. Plus the winch covers weren't gonna work with how mine is mounted in my bumper.

If you were closer I'd give you some of mine. I have a ton leftover.

I saw the video for the PreRunner, mine is a 4x so the tcase shifter caused me all sorts of trouble. I had to install the bushings with the shifter assembly still partially installed in the truck. Huge PITA. That being said the shifter is so quiet now and tight!! I would do it all over regardless of the troubles.

Man I love this idea. What are the approx dimensions you cut it to? Did you have to treat the edges to keep it from unraveling?

whatever the width of your winch drum is approx. I'd guess around 10-11 inches. Then enough to wrap it around the drum and overlap itself a bit.

    T-Case Switch Replaced

Finally figured out my 4x problem. The T-Case Switch shit the bed. Another one of those things that “never happens to these trucks” according to Camelback T.

I had to get a somewhat special 27mm socket from Matco Tools to get the job done. What a PITA. Seems like there had been a fair amount of that this week.

I got an early start too with all the repairs/maintenance but when it came down to it I just needed more time. Oh well. Are you good to go now?

I thought I was. Gonna be burning the midnight oil. I didn't check my blue sea outlet before hooking it all up and come to find out that it has 2 USB ports and not a 12v outlets so I'm on my way to autozone and hopefully they have one. But otherwise just some last minute packing.

What do you need the 12v outlet for?

Yes it is. Pretty much the reason that sold me on the truck.

So I’ve been having steering issues for a little while now. Started with a rack leak on the driver side, next I started hearing this weird grinding/grating noise coming from the area around the firewall when I would turn the steering wheel, this last week the steering wheel got very stiff to turn so I figured it was time to refresh the system. I ordered the replacement rack kit from Low Range which includes new inner and outer rod ends and new Energy Suspension bushings. All the parts showed up today so I’ll get to it this weekend. Tonight I figured I’d start this project by cleaning the power steering fluid reservoir inside and out.

When you fill it back up and bleed it, make sure to do it with the engine off.

I didn't do that and prob caused some damage to my pump when I did.

Ok, truth be told I haven’t researched yet in how to bleed the system. How do you do that?
