SOB, (get me a drink) Friday rant.

So, back story.

My little car got wailed on by hail two months ago. After fighting multiple insurance claims, body shops and general grief, I finally get it back this week. I just started driving it again yesterday.


What happens? Somebody fucking hits it. Low speed, but hard. I'm in the drive through. Somebody in a new 2500 doesn't see me over their 8 foot tall hood and plows the rear bumper. She said that she thought she just bumped a curb, and would have kept going except she heard someone yell through her grille "what the fucking fuck?" This of course prompted her to back up and notice that oh shit, there's an entire car there. In the drive through lane. It's bright red, not that it matters, because who can see a car over the shipping pier that is a GMC hood?

Thank goodness they have good insurance at least.

Oh, and it's pretty bad that if it were an Abrams tank or a Peterbilt, she would have seen me.






And now, my Friday rant. The current design of HD trucks are fucking stupid. And I don't want to hear the the hood scoop impedes view anymore. Does it hide an entire fucking car? No it does not.

I think I'm going to have to order a buggy whip and a bicycle helmet.






... Still, it could be far worse.

If it was me backing into a pole, yes.

If it's someone else pinging me, I want a shop to pull the panel and inspect the crash bar.

Here's the dumbass moment. I came within five seconds of losing it because during my walk around my gas door wouldn't open. Little did I know that Mazda puts a little power lock on the gas cap that opens and closes with the door locks.

 

Trucks are way too big but they gotta keep up with 'Murica's ever-increasing girth.
