So the owner says the fabric is rubber coated thus it expands and contracts from temperature making it unable to put on when too cold.... does this sound reasonable? @FirstGen Jer @Dangerousd1987 any experience with this on your bestop?

I don't know about a rubber coating? Mine is just regular canvas but it gets water proof with a chemical spray you can apply. But ya with the softopper the canvas buttons to the Rail system and is harder to do when it's really cold out. Impossible? No, just more elbow grease. But usually the canvas is always buttoned up and strapped to the rail system and you can install this all at once so the canvas being cold would have nothing to do with you having any trouble installing the whole set-up to your truck just as you would a hard shell camper top.

Apparently it's a Bestop thing, found a person with a similar issue with their Bestop as well. Thats pretty much my thinking, just gonna take a little elbow grease.
We'll see what happens tomorrow evening

I really like my Bestop. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The windows are great but they really don't roll up. They are easy to take off and put back on after you get the correct steps dialed in. They do scratch real easy though. I have two sets one for brushy trails and one for open spaces. With the softopper you can roll them up which is cool. I like being able to see outside while camping.

I've read that in reviews. Doesn't bother me because I plan on using it if it's cold anyways...but I can understand how that would be irritating

Any recommendations on a form of cot to throw in the bed gentlemen? Think I'll probably go get a mattress pad and cut it up to fit the bed, maybe sew up a cover for it too.
Honestly they main reason I like the bestop over the soft topper is for the windows, I look over my shoulder quite often and with a soft topper I would be blinded quite a bit. I know I can roll up the sides but I know i won't do it every time. How complicated are the steps, sounds like something I'll practice a couple times over and & over to drill into my memory. I also like having the ability to see outside without having your "enclosure" open to the elements for instance a cool breeze.
Mine are going to get quite scratched up :anonymous:
It definately wont bug me for the same reason, was just curious if that's a legit thing. The only issue it will pose it test fitting it tomorrow evening while it's cold.

The steps are easy once you are shown them in person.

@Nicklovin Damn j-hooks that you have to guid the window into...then zippers that zip from the bottom -> up (for some reason). Would have been more functional if they zipped down IMO.

It's not the airing them up, I just don't like the feel of them. I have one for guests and i personally hate lieing down on it, maybe this one is different idk. For me it was quite stiff. I'll definately be looking into that option though and a few others as well

I figured I would see if anyone needed them here first before tossing them up on craigslist.

Anyone in need of 17" TRD sport wheels and tires? I have thrown on some new feet and these stock wheels are just taking up space right now. I live in Mammoth but head down to Riverside/Temecula often which is where they are stored right now. Shoot me an offer if you are interested. I also have the original spare under the truck still that I have no need for.

Hey fellas. I also have a set of TRD Sport wheels and tires sitting in my garage that need a new home. Located in Chula Vista. Impress your family and friends with them! They are too cool for my truck. :anonymous:
