THE RED ONE IN SHERMAN OAKS IS MINE. No way in the world one person could have so many tailgates in different colors for so cheap! They come with the back up camera too? I bet those Vin numbers were removed.

Dont be so quick to judge people on craigslist selling multiple tailgates. I myself have about 9 2015/16 F150 tailgates almost brand new or brand new, some with cameras some without. We remove them and put on commercial shells , lift-gates, etc and the majority tailgates were usually just trashed before I came along. I now sell them for pretty cheap ($250-$300) and give my service team pizza parties, buy them lunch, coffee, etc with the money.

Hope they can find the stolen tailgates though.

ALERT: My tailgate was stolen last night while I was having dinner. They also stole the chef's Tundra tailgate at the same time.
    Location: Sherman Oaks Ventura Blvd
An unknowing witness spotted a maroon truck with a heavyset guy

I think he's on a crime spree. Keep your eyes open and tailgates locked.

Truck owners should unite and put a sting operation together to put these guys behind bars.

why don't they build a tracking device on the tailgate you can turn on with your phone r something, that would be pretty dope lol. :burnrubber: find them thiefs and give em hell:censored:.

Hide an iPhone in there. When it gets stolen, turn on the "Find my iPhone" app.

I wondered the same, but then the thieves will be aware of that. Then they could adapt and figure out how to disable the tracking device. Its probably best for owners to implement tracking on their own that way it will take the thief some time to figure it out and hopefully enough time for you to track it down.

honestly it might work lewl. You could get duck tape and one of those gps trackers might work if they dont notice it.

A lot of trucks and cars are getting broken into down in SD my girlfriends dads tundra almost got stolen, but they couldnt figure out how to hot wire it and just screwed up the cords and wires for him when he got back. I need better security or something all my 5 lug has is a alarm...:(.

The best solution for tracking at this time would be crowd gps.

If the truck community came together and decided on a single crowd gps product, we could all work together whenever someones tailgate was stolen.

    Scenario:

My tailgate got stolen, I then broadcast to the truck community about it. Everyone involved would simply have to turn on their crowd gps tracking app effectively creating a wide geo-fence. Once the tracker on my tailgate pops up, it will alert me of where it is so I can take action to recover it.

The problem here is how do we get the trucking community to come together on crowd gps product platform. If we start a system here on Tacomaworld, it could percolate across other forums and groups.

    What do you all think?

It be awesome to rig a stun gun or pepper spray or some kind of harmful deterrent to the tailgate. Perhap put a security camera looking through back window or a camera looking at your driveway. I park my truck close to the house and my 4 dogs barks at the slightest noise.
