Treacherous coming down big bear 2 days ago. People were sliding and spinning all over. 330 turned to ice. I had to stop and wait for long periods of time, sometimes my truck slid sideways stopped decided to put chains on the rear because of the stop and go.

Didn't beat the snow on my way home that Monday myself. The Cajon pass was covered, with no support for Caltrans. It was a parking lot of stuck vehicles. Whole lotta tire spinning that night...

Am I the only one that thinks the dude who’s filming is a Dick for just sitting back an enjoying the carnage for like 5 min of vid which is probably 2 hours real time..??? And if it was you Chris sorry... I don’t know anything about response time of cal trans or local road crews but if your going to sit there and watch people wreck their cars and other cars who are parked... just sayin.

I've sat at a bad intersection after a snow before to watch the carnage, if I'd had a camera phone then I would have recorded it.

No, wasn't me. But I may do that. Definitely feels like a local doing this. I feel like they love seeing "down the hillers" crash into each other. My dad lives up there now (for about 10yrs), and he'd totally film this, but not as steadily.

But, what should they have done? Gone to the top of the hill and flagged them down in street clothes, until someone with authority came to help the out of towners?

Cant really do much in that situation....you'd think the weather and street conditions would be enough of a warning.

It’s part of the SoCal experience. Stuff like that is why the CHP was super anal regarding Mt. Baldy this morning. The LEO checked everyone’s tread depth and made them show their chains —even 4x4s and AWDs. Of course, once you got past the checkpoint the roads were almost totally dry and widely cleared, LOL. The day before had a lot of crashes and cars abandoned overnight, apparently.
