Lol. The ube porter actually tasted more like vanilla or something nutty. It’s a good porter, it’s just hard to taste the ube.

Edit: My tolerance for ube is pretty good. Lol. We had Goldilocks ube macapuno for our wedding cake. Currently, we still have a little bit of ube macapuno ice cream in the freezer. Oh, and some ube porter in the fridge from yesterday. Might be time to restock on some ube hopia from Lilian’s Bread & Sweets. :D

There were a few people fishing there. What kinds of fish can be caught there and are they good to eat? Not sure how clean that water is with several homeless living in the woods there.

I’ll give them a 5 or 6/10. Mainly, that’s for their size and they’re only offered on Sundays. They should get a Costco sized waffle maker in their kitchen. I’m used to Roscoe’s or Bea Bea’s waffles sizes. Lol. Also, I don’t know if I could really taste the ube much in the waffles themselves. Gotta try them plain next time. Although, you could definitely taste the ube in the ube butter. Put a good amount of that ube butter and a little syrup on there. Tasty!

We didn’t eat the Big Boi food right away because we took it to-go to go get some of that ube Porter at Santa Monica Brew Works. Note: SMBW does not allow outside food at their establishment, so wifey and I had our brunch at a picnic table in the parking lot area by the building. Waffles stayed warm, but may have gotten soggy. They weren’t horribly soggy, but it might have had a nice crunch if eaten fresh from the kitchen. Curious to see how they would have presented them if dining in. I wonder if they dress them up a little bit, probably not as much as some of the ones they do at Bea Bea’s.

oh, Big Boi’s spicy fried chicken with gravy is good with these!
